Humble beginning

The Ministry of Health approved the establishment of Nakuru Hospice Project in March 2008.

The building was handed over to Nakuru Hospice Directors on 19th September 2008 following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Board of Nakuru Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Handover Ceremony: Mr. Gichuru Chairman PGH Board presided by Dr Kiyapi on behalf of the  Medical Superintendent to Elizabeth Ndungu witnessed by Nakuru Hospice Directors (The Late J.S Shah , Abbas Parkar, Hellen Mburu and Sally Mbeche and seconded staff Pamela Owame and the late Afia Waititu.

In year 2009 Rift Valley PGH allocates two rooms at the casualty Department which previously were broiler rooms. The Nakuru Hospice raised funds amongs themselves and renovated this room to start the Hospice. Two staff were seconded by the Government ; Pamela Owame  and the Late Afia Waititu.
